THE CHALLENGE 

The Australian EDC Knife Challenge puts everyday carry knives — and the people using them — to the test in a fast-paced, head-to-head competition against the clock.

Competitors race through a course of practical cutting challenges designed to test cutting performance, precision, control and versatility. Every cut counts, every second counts, and mistakes cost time.

One knife. One course. Fastest compliant time wins.

HOW IT WORKS

1. START
The competitor begins behind the start line with their EDC knife secured in the designated start box.

2. START THE CLOCK
The competitor activates the timer, retrieves their knife and begins the course.

3. COMPLETE THE CHALLENGES
The competitor progresses through a series of standardised cutting tasks designed to test different aspects of knife performance, handling and control.

4. SECURE THE KNIFE
After completing the final challenge, the competitor must return the knife to the designated secure knife area.

5. STOP THE CLOCK
Once the knife is safely secured, the competitor stops the timer. The recorded time, including any applicable penalties, becomes their result.

THE COURSE

Every station has two jobs: test the knife and create a challenge worth watching.

Competitors race through a series of purpose-built cutting stations, with each task testing a different aspect of EDC knife performance and the competitor's skill.

Challenges are designed to be highly visible, easy for spectators to understand and have a clear result. Live timing and MC commentary keep the audience involved as competitors work their way through the course.

The course will continue to evolve as the competition is developed.
